Join us on July 28th in downtown Columbia for a special event dedicated to celebrating Breastfeeding Awareness Month and Black Breastfeeding Week. From 10am to 2pm, we invite all moms and their breastfed babies to participate in an empowering and joyous photoshoot.
Why Awareness Matters:
Breastfeeding is a vital practice that offers numerous health benefits for both babies and mothers. It helps in building a strong immune system for the infant, promotes healthy growth, and fosters a unique bond between mother and child. Despite its benefits, breastfeeding often faces challenges due to societal norms, lack of support, and misinformation. By raising awareness, we aim to provide education, support, and encouragement to all mothers who choose to breastfeed.
Special Segment for Black Breastfeeding Awareness:
Black Breastfeeding Week is celebrated to address the unique challenges and disparities faced by Black mothers in the breastfeeding journey. Historically, Black women have faced significant obstacles in accessing breastfeeding support due to systemic racism, cultural stigmas, and economic barriers. By dedicating a special segment to Black Breastfeeding Awareness, we aim to highlight these issues, celebrate the resilience and strength of Black mothers, and foster a supportive community.
This photoshoot is more than just an event; it's a movement to normalize breastfeeding, empower mothers, and celebrate diversity. Come be a part of this beautiful celebration, connect with other moms, and create lasting memories. Together, we can make a difference and support each other in the journey of motherhood.
